He did... read more some pre-arranging with us and figured out what we would like to cook and based his menu off of that. We arrived at his house and we were warmly greeted by Luca. We had drinks we had an appetizer which he made for us which was delicious and then after about 45 minutes we got to working on our dinners for the evening. We made ravioli fettuccine and gnocchi. Everything was explained very well and my family and I did 99% of the preparing for this meal. Once it was done we all went into his dining room and we enjoyed a meal together some tiramisu which we also made. We were there for about 4 1/2 hours and it was one of the best experiences that we have had in Italy to date. I highly recommend booking a cooking session with Luca. Luca put us at ease right away. It was so fun to be in an actual home and see a glimpse of how Italians actually live. Besides the patient teaching of us pasta making novices, Luca answered all kinds of questions including about the bidet in the bathroom, haha! He even emailed me places we should go eat, tips for our trip, etc. Definitely above and beyond. His wife and baby daughter dined with us and they were a pleasure to get to know. I don't know if we will be pasta making experts back at home but regardless we are very glad that we booked this experience.

OF Course he had done it maybe 1000 times before. But he took us with him to a journey in cooking, history, music... in 4 hours. Now we know about a singer-songwriter Francesco Guccini that we fount interesting and we responded with the swedish/dusch singer-songwriter Cornelis Vreeswijk. We had some very pleasent hours talking, laughing, cooking and eating. He served the wine (Chianti Classico) and snapps (Grappa) wonderful time.

Lucca was incredibly gracious upon meeting us at the door and had an appetizer... read more and wine already made for everyone while we all introduced ourselves and got to know the other members of the cooking experience. Lucca is a very patient chef and took great care to make sure everyone was on the same page and felt confident to make great food. Thee group is never larger than 6 so it is intimate and no one is left out. He was particularly deft in keeping everything neat and tidy while we worked. When we sat down to eat dinner, it was around his family’s dinner table. His sweet wife and adorable baby joined us for dinner which made it perfectly homey and we all felt like part of their family. When the evening was finished we had all enjoyed ourselves so much and vowed to send pictures and FaceTime with each other when we returned to our homes to make pasta in the style of Tuscany and Lucca.

  This was the best experience we have had in Italy. Luca was a fantastic instructor. He really helped us all get the feel for making pasta. His recipes were so... read more simple and approachable, and he broke them down for us in such a way that we were all able to do everything, even my 10 and 12 year old children. He was wonderful with them! This was such a beautiful, hands on experience. Luca made us feel so at home in his house. It was liking dining with family. And the end result was so unbelievably delicious! It’s hard to believe we made that meal ourselves. I cannot wait to take my new skills and recipes with me to try once we get back home. This was absolutely worth every penny!
